OUR HISTORY
Our Story
GBC is a specialist brand that manufactures high-performance business machines and systems. The GBC story began in 1947 when founder, William Lane, and two business partners helped a local printers to find a faster, more reliable way to bind and laminate.
GBC, or the General Binding Corporation, has a proven history of providing world class, innovative and first to market business solutions, always leading the way to define our product categories.
In 1960 we introduced KomboKoil; the first machine to combine punching and binding, quickly followed by the first electric, desktop binding punch in 1961. GBC entered the lamination category in 1966 when we launched the worlds first tabletop A4 laminator.
Today, GBC has over 70 years of industry expertise; becoming the global leader in the binding and laminating categories.

Then - Since launching the first tabletop A4 laminator in 1966, we've consistently evolved our technology and machines.
Now - In 2019 we introduced Foton 30; the worlds first fully automatic A3 laminator, which has provided game changing innovation for the category.
